First Steps (Key Stage 2 Beginners) | Ages 6-11
Our First Steps classes are designed especially for home-educated, home-schooling and worldschooling children aged 6–11 who are completely new to Spanish. Using the Adventures in Spanish Framework, every lesson is packed with songs, games, role-play and hands-on activities that make Spanish feel like an adventure — not a subject.
We run one weekly First Steps class on Tuesdays and have a wait list for the Wednesday class. Parents can select the following:
- Tuesdays 11–11.45am
- Wednesday 11–11.45am (contact us to be added to the wait list)
What makes First Steps special?
- Home-ed friendly – We understand how home-educating families learn and create a warm, relaxed space where children feel confident to join in, experiment and find their feet in a new language.
- Engaging, hands-on learning – Each lesson brings Spanish to life through songs, games, stories and creative activities — because children learn best when they’re having fun.
- Purposeful progression – First Steps follows the Adventures in Spanish Framework, introducing children to the language in a clear, age-appropriate way that sets them up confidently for Trail Blazers and beyond.
- Experienced tutors – Lessons are led by native-speaking tutors who are part of the home education and worldschooling community themselves.
By the end of First Steps, your child will:
✅ Have taken their first confident steps in Spanish
✅ Be able to listen, respond and begin to speak in everyday Spanish
✅ Have discovered a love of languages and the cultures behind them
✅ Feel ready and excited to keep exploring
Every great adventure starts with a first step — and this is theirs.
