Spanish for GCSE and iGCSE doesn’t have to feel like memorising vocabulary lists and hoping for the best. Our classes combine solid exam preparation with the kind of natural, conversational Spanish that comes from having actually lived and worked across South America โ€” so your child isn’t just learning to pass a paper, they’re learning a language that makes sense.

Whether you’re home educating, supplementing school lessons, or looking for focused exam support, there’s a class structure to fit. Classes run during term time in blocks of six-weeks. Check out our FAQ’s here.

When do classes run?

Our classes run every halfโ€‘term, in blocks of 5, 6 or 7 weeks, depending on where the school holidays fall. Because term dates vary across the UK, we always give parents clear start and end dates with plenty of notice.

Your child is welcome to join at any point in the year โ€” weโ€™ll make sure they settle in confidently, whatever their starting point.

What happens if you miss a lesson?

If your child misses a lesson, donโ€™t worry โ€” they wonโ€™t fall behind. All groups have access to Google Classroom, where lesson materials, vocabulary lists, homework, and any resources used in class are uploaded each week. Your child can catch up in their own time and still stay on track with the group.

If you need extra support after an absence, youโ€™re welcome to get in touch via info@adventuresinspanish.co.uk or WhatsApp, and we can guide you on what was covered and what to focus on next.

What exam board do you teach?

We teach across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel Pearson, and Cambridge (iGCSE), so lessons are tailored to whichever specification your child is following. If youโ€™re still deciding which board is the right fit,ย hereโ€™s a breakdown of the differences between AQA, Edexcel, and iGCSE.

Does my child need to already know some Spanish?

This course assumes GCSE-entry level; if your child is starting from scratch, our Home Education Pathfinders/Voyagers classes are a better starting point.

GCSE/iGCSE syllabus coverage

Structured lessons that map directly onto the specification, so nothing feels like a detour.

Small group classes

Maximum 10 students per class, so everyone gets speaking practice and personal feedback โ€” not lost in a big group.

Oral exam preparation

Dedicated practice for the speaking assessment, including role-play scenarios and photo-card technique, built around real conversational confidence rather than rehearsed scripts.

Booster blocks

Short, focused sessions for students who need to target a specific grade jump or weak area before exams.

What Our Students and Families Say

โ€œKelly is one of the best teachers I have come across and I have worked across primary, secondary and further education environments. She truly cares about her role and is fully focused on developing every studentโ€™s Spanish ability in a varied and engaging way. The GCSE classes are hugely interactive and also introduce students to the exam format so there are no nasty surprises at the 11th hour! After 2 lessons with Kelly, my daughter learnt more than in a whole term with another tutor and loves the classes. Kellyโ€™s vlogs and blogs show how much she is passionate about everything Spanish and this comes across in every lesson. If you are looking for a Spanish teacher for you or your child, I would 100% recommend Adventures in Spanish. โ€œ
