Hola, do you know how to tell somebody that you miss them in Español?
No? Well, in this blog post you’re going to learn just that. ¿Listo? ¡Vamos!
In this blog post you’re going to learn how to say or how to tell someone that you miss them in Español. There are quite a few ways you can do it but I’m going to give you two to start with.
The first one is the most common one that you’ll hear in Central and South America and it’s:
Te Extraño – I miss you.
That’s informal; Te means you’re talking to somebody that you know. If you miss them then you know them:
Te Extraño – I miss you.
If you see them for the for the first time after quite a while and you want to tell somebody that you missed them it would be:
Te Extrané – I missed you
There’s another way to tell somebody that you miss them in Español. This is more of a phrase that is used mainly in Mainland Spain but you can use it around the rest of the Spanish-speaking world and it’s;
Te echo de menos – I miss you
Again you can use that in the past tense to tell somebody that you missed them:
Te eché de menos – I missed you.
The verb Echar is a synonym for Tirar, which means “to throw away” so it means “I throw you”. It doesn’t translate well in English does it!
So the two ways to tell somebody that you miss them in Espanol first of all; Te Extrano and secondly Te echo de menos.
