I was researching how to become a certified translator here in the UK and was surprised to discover that there is no certification or accreditation requirement in this country. In fact, so long as you are registered with the HMCR you can legally provide translation services. You do not need a fixed address either which means that translation services can be offered as online services!
However, in order for my clients to feel confident with the translations services I provide it is important for me to become certified at the highest level.
Therefore in addition to my Degree in PR I am currently preparing to sit the following exams in early 2016:
IOL (Level 7) Diploma in Translations – An internationally recognised qualification. Level 7 is the gold standard for anyone wanting a career as a freelance translator. www.ciol.org.uk
DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language): Level C2 Exam – Internationally recognized Diploma that constitutes a guarantee in assessing and evaluating linguistic competence in the Spanish language. the C2 exam certifies sufficient linguistic competence to communicate effectively in any situation, proving ability to spontaneously adapt to any context, with a high degree of precision. http://www.dele.org/
